Snorkelling entails floating on the surface with a mask, snorkel, and fins to explore shallow waters; at the same time, scuba diving requires a specialised system, together with a tank and regulator, to explore deeper underwater environments. Snorkelling is newbie-friendly, whereas scuba diving gives a greater immersive enjoyment. On the East Coast, the best months for surfing are May through October, and on the Southwest Coast, they are November through April.
